My Names Al, I’m in BOCES auto collision for the first time this year. Been in it about 3 months. I’ve learned alot. I know alot about the mechanical side of engine repair not much about the collision side. I’m hoping to own my own shop someday so I’m here to learn everything I can. Although I”m still green I do know alot. I’d love to learn more from the veterans and am always open to Ideas. Well I guess thats all. If you have any good advice about automotive collision feel free to post below. And for those who do thank you very much it is appreciated

Always wear your mask or respirator.

:cheers and apropriate foot wear. wet feet can lead to serious discomfort, I Always put on my waterproof boots before wet-sanding or washing a car.

Ohh, the How to’s on this site are awesome, just don’t take Everything at face value (the one thing that stands out in my mind it the instructions lead you through the repair and then say to feather the paint edge. The right way is to feather the edge when prepping your surface for repair)

I will take a look at some more of the how to’s already read a couple of them. Thanks again guys for taking the time to respond

Buy good tools once instead of cheap ones multiple times. :teach Don’t be afraid to work filler by hand before going to town with the air tools

I’ve used guide coat before and I know its a life saver lol. And I will once I get the money. Right now doing only light work at home Harbor Frieght is good enough. We have Chraftsman mainly for the hand tools at boces (I also have a full set at home so set there lol) I’m not sure about the rest of the tools. However my shop teacher is a real veteran and wouldn’t let us use some piece of junk tool. Thanks again for the tips
