How’s the plastic welder working out for you? And is that urethane?

I was using mine a few hours ago for a PP front bumper cover. Used the FiberFlex.

good after he switch rod ended up using the fiberflex on it to luv it though he had all sorts of ideas after the dvd he watched yesterday :stoned

Most times I don’t use the fiberflex. I have gone to using strips of old bumper. Use the flat foot with the welder on high and it works pretty well.

Looks good bondo. That’s something I want to learn about too (plastic welding). I should pick one up myself, just looks like a soldering iron with a funky end. How doe’s the strength of a plastic weld compare to epoxy repairs? Also, are you sucking up a lot of harsh fumes doing this?

Jimmo, the welder is a breeze to use. And those tiny rods last forever. The fiberflex isn’t as strong
as a 2 part adhesive; i prefer using 3M Structural adhesive or even JB Weld for headlamp tabs (PP).
Headlamps, air cleaner boxes, or even just one bumper and the welder kit pays for itself. It’s a must have.

yah they work well when used right …. and I also prefer stealing some material of the original for rod. compatability is a given then :cheer: :cheer:
