Just wondering if any of you have had any experiences with the FIX auto network? I would like your opinions and hear your experiences.

Our shop became a fix about 2 years ago and its been a big help for us. We had always been relatively busy but we now get alot more referal work (DRP), In Canada anyhow I believe they’ve just reached some deals with a few large insurance company’s and its getting even busier. They have also just made a deal that requires us to switch to Dupont once our contracts up with BASF. I’m not particulary thrilled about seeing them taking control of our choice in materials but aside from that everythings been good. I agree with what they try to acheive from the shop image, customer service and tracking your costs/staying organized. I think it was a good fit for us & fix seems to be growing fast.

Most of my work however is on the shop floor, so i dont really know the ins and outs. I do know that the shop owner is happy with what fix has done for us.

We had Fix come into us and try to get us (a GM dealer) in with them. Don’t see how a GM franchise can become a FIX franchise at the same time…

Anyway, the understanding I was getting was that for the shops in Ontario (like jimmo) it has been a great success. Out west here seems to be a different story. I think the lack of brand awareness out here has been really poor (although it is getting better), the cost vs. profit aspect seemed to be lacking as well. I know in the Calgary area there have been 3 shops that have ditched the Fix franchise in the last couple years, but one large one recently got on with Fix.

Maybe as brand awareness increases and more open (out this way) things will only get better for them.

I know of 2 GM dealers very close by that are Fix, I agree the concept is odd. In the case when its attached to the dealership I think all it does is create confusion for the customers (and probably the staff). They seem to push the (good) idea of professionalism, but I dont think it looks professional operating like that.
