Heres one for you I have a brand new extented savana van I need to got from white to red
What would you pay tech’s to paint and r&i all appropriate hardware
Have a discussion with my guys and they want lots more hours than I think it should be
this is oustside only for paint

roughly 34 hrs to refinish but ccc times suck on vans best way to do it is time and materials. or you could say 40 paint 20 r&i plust cost of paint and materials.I have 10 all overs from a wind storm here and a ford focus has better paint time on it than a van.

Thanks but I have to do it for 800.00 as per manager and that includes materials.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you were sometimes given the benifit of the doubt as a manager rather than working for a owner
I was going to pay 24 for paint and 5 hours for r and i
so I could do it at cost and it is going from white to red so you know the cost of that paint we are also going to do it in one stage (uno)
    thanks
just what i quoted but was told I was too high

    I’d guess 32.5 for paint at $62/hr and $40/hr materials $3315
    8-10 R&I at $62/hr and $20/hr for materials $680-$820
    3315 + 680 = $3995 + tax

Thanks your right brought this up a managers meeting this aft
so now I was told to do it for 1000.00 and to have it all done
    by friday
Ah the joys of working dealerships
I know how much it should be but thats that I guess
Then at the end of month when we lose percentage etc. etc..
If you know the drill its always the managers fault

    June 11, 2008 at 3:34 am #10636

ya cant do much r@i of trim on a job that pays like that it would deffinitly be a scuff&shoot in single stage cheap single stage that is with no polishing…a savana is a pretty good size van aint it????

Tape’s too expensive. Glad Press and Seal Works great

    June 11, 2008 at 5:32 am #10645

$1,000?? You’re kidding, right? I know guys doing side jobs in the garage or backyard and they wouldn’t touch something like that for less than $2,000. Take it into a shop, you’re looking at $3,500-$5,000, easy.

    That’s insane man.
