onyx hd woes

so I need to re do a whole side but my f-ing god this stuff is just impossible. it’s like trying to sand off 3m molding tape. I don’t see it getting any dryer no matter how long I wait. god damn I really dont want to prime block and seal again but it looks like my only option. f this paint i swear to goodness
its probably the worst paint in the world to repair, I would put a coat of clear on it.
woudnt sealer make more sense?
Maybe a primer, I know you wouldn’t be any further ahead if you used a sealer like DP31 (sands as bad as onyx). I’m just suggesting a clear because they’re wont be any compatibility issues, I’ve never put primer atop base but I’m sure it can be done.
