Well I was stripping the roof of the 68 last night with 65 grit on the Rotary, and finishing it up with 65 on the DA.
And after a couple minutes of stripping I noticed all these Fibers everywhere. And now my garage is covered in them.

Either way, it was more of just a gee wiz thing. I’ve never really ran into it before. And I was wondering what the hell it is… :wak

The car has a few colors on it.

    Top to bottom.
    Clearcoat
    Silver Basecoat
What I assume is some sort of tan colored Poly.
    Green SSU
    A Darker Green SSU
    White Primer of some sorts.
    Brown Primer of some sorts.
    Grey Primer of some sorts.

    Wasn’t much filler anywhere…
But what I’m assuming the Poly may have been a glaze.
Just because of how thick it was. I didn’t run into this stuff all over the car. Just the roof and trunk lid. I actually gave up on trying to blast these with the 12-16 grit Urea plastic abrasive just because I was unloading my 250 lb tank without making much progress. So I figured I’d just strip it with the rotary sander, and have just been putting it off until now.

I’m assuming it is either the Tan colored Poly/glaze. or the White primer. Just because the Fibers are a lighter, whitish color.

So uh. what the hell is it?

    Poly primer is my guess.
