    Hello all,

My daughter hit a pole ( she is ok) but took out the right side of the truck. My question is I have a factory replacment panel, would you recommand priming it, or scuff it with 400 and shoot the base coat? BTW I will also repaint the bumper skin which I picked up.

    Thanks for the help.

you want to shoot a sealer over it before you put any base on it otherwise it wont last

    ha, i mis read it.

I think you will be fine with scuffing it and shooting a sealer, then basecoat.

I would suggest that even more on a cover because it helps out with rock chips. Make sure to use adhesion promotor on the bumper

if the cover comes pre primed dont use adhesion promoter on it an ya should seal both parts the fender an the cover b4 ya base ta check the cover to see if its preprimed scuff it in a spot with some 600 an see if ya get blk color on the paper if not then ya will need an raw plastic adhesion promoter b4 ya seal 😉

    bondomerchant,

The bumper cover is painted it came from a junk yark. So it has factory paint on it now, but is scuffed in a few place so I thought I would shoot it with the fender. I will sand her with 400 then shoot it with sealer, correct? 🙂
