Hell where it is a solid. and no stripes.
The panels were take offs and are already proven to fit without any additional work.
I would mix up a whole gallon, Blast the whole shell disassembled.
Blast the doors and fenders off. And do the car in pieces…

No lines. And come on, Bondo’s done many cars in pieces. he’ll get a match. as long as the cheap ass mixes everything at once.

got to agree with you Ding. i hate seeing guys going so far on a car and then cut corners as soon as its starting to take shape.

It’s about time you got something done on waldo.

You doing SS or bc/cc on it?

I know a shop that basecoats all of the jambs disassembled. then assembles it. Bases the rest of the car, goes over the base in the jamb again then clears the whole thing assembled.
Sort of been debating on trying that method.

Looking good. I’ve got a couple of fenders on the boil right now as well. So all the work goes into them first, then test fit, prime, install and paint? Doing the base off the car, then putting it back together sounds like a pretty good idea for some parts. I’m guessing it would depend on the car. My 2 doors have very heavy doors – I can’t see me fighting with them to get them in place then setting them up. Now a trunk lid or a hood is a different deal.

I did something similar when I did my own car (don’t bother with the day to day work – tape’s fine for customers! :lol1 )

Car was stripped to base the jambs, then reassembled to base the outside. The front end panels were then removed for clearing, but the doors and tailgate stayed on, as I could reach the insides of them pretty well.

Really I was just breakin Bondos stones. The car really isnt a gem and isnt a ground up resto. With a proper tape job you wont be able to tell the diff.
Not sayin that bondo will do a proper tape job though :rofl :rofl :rofl
