I haven’t posted the pics of me stuffing kitty hair behind the bottom of this rotted out drivers door,,,, yet. Yes, I’m thinking about doing it  It’s got to be better than the Silicone/RTV that the last guy used………… Right?

November 22, 2009 at 4:09 am #17126I bought a drill bit sharpener from one of those truckload tool shows. It caught on fire the first time I plugged it in. 😉
November 22, 2009 at 3:57 am #17125Thanks fellas,
I’m starting to feel like I’m making a quilt.
A couple more patches and a few more hammer taps and I might be able to live with this beat up drivers quarter.

November 20, 2009 at 7:30 am #17087This afternoons progress…
Decided to salvage the patch that the last guy did on the fender by cutting it at the weld and bringing it flush with the surrounding metal and butt welding. Then added a piece to the front where it was rotten. Passenger side metal work is just about done.
Hey id rather deal with dents anytime vs rust repair.
Me too. The car is pretty decent as far as rust goes. I did put a LH trunk floor in this same car a few years ago when the guy first bought it, the rest of the floors looked really good.
Heck as beat up as some of that stuff is wouldnt he be saving some money on labor by replacing some skin?
:lol1 Probably not at my labor rates. :rofl
The full quarters are kinda pricey IMO. Over $500 for that quarter w/shipping.
Gonna just use the patch panels he already has.
Looks like you’ll be having fun for a while, how long ya figure it will take you on that chevelle?
Your guess is as good as mine. Really depends on how much free time I can find to get it done. Hope to get some metal repair done this weekend.
