Thanks fellas. I’m not a production painter like most of you guys by any means. I have done quite a bit of light hit collision stuff for freinds, but since painting is just a hobby for me, I prefer to work on stuff that’s not someones primary source of transportation. Every time I’ve been talked into collision work, I always feel like I have to bust my @$$ to get someone’s car back, tough to keep promises with a full time job.

This S-10 was on the TV show PINKS ALL OUT in Buds creek Md. last year. It won the whole deal. Belongs to a guy at work. Painted this one several years back. Seems I have to do something to it every year though because he can’t leave it alone.

No doubt there,,,,,,, apples to oranges.

No shame in sticking with the RP if that’s more your style.

I’ve done quite a few completes w/ an lph-400. Both a 1.4 and a 1.3. Not a whole lot of difference in travel speed/ material delivery between the two IMO. It’s a little slower than a compliant gun, but it gets the job done with less overspray.

How close are you to the panel while spraying with that gun? That gun likes to be crazy close to a panel like 4″, to work right.

Now if we’re talking base and the LVB (purple cap),,,,,,,, yeah,,,,,,, now that’s slow,,,,,,,, to slow,,,,, not even worth the effort to attempt to use as far as I’m concerned, I still like my t-1 HVLP for base.

Hey jimmo, I’ve noticed that the “preview post” function never works here, when replying to a thread. Well, that’s the case for me anyways. Anyone else having this issue?

It’s nice to see a preview if you add a pic or link.

Your color choices might just be subtle enough that I won’t dog ‘ya for pimping out your grandma’s car.
