April 22, 2009 at 1:56 am #14036Top shelf products at affordable prices.. Customer service like no other in the industry.. Does not get much better than that 😉
Barry Kives is the sole owner and operator..
Here is his number.. He would enjoy answering any questions you have.. and I mean any questions you have bro404-307-9740
April 20, 2009 at 1:04 am #14028Let me know what you think of the new sealer.. I plan on getting 2 gallons.. 1 in black and 1 in white when my next overall job comes in.. I was going to use the Euro on this car, but Barry convinced me not to.. He was afraid I would not get it buffed in time and then it would be concrete.. I would like to try it out sometime.., guess not right now
April 19, 2009 at 9:23 pm #14025Han he is making out good, but yes I am charging for the rust repair.. Think it took me 8 hours, that included removing the bumper support which took about an hour , blasting, clean up of blast material, cutting out the patch panels and welding them solid, yada yada yada.. 😉
I told him I would charge an hourly rate plus materials.. Still that makes it cheaper for him, which I honestly dont mind.. He has offered to build me a garage completely from start to finish if I buy materials at no cost.. I would just trade the labor on this car minus material cost that he has already paid to me.. Like I said before in earlier post.. He is a good guy.. I think that proves it right there.. He knows I have some big money jobs coming in and he builds houses. Been a contractor for over 20 years….. Wish I could come up with the funds for all the materials plus concrete.. But just cant right now  Oh well.. Ill be glad when its gone.. I have a bunch of small collision repairs lined up and Bondo likes those :woohoo:
Oh yeah, Happy Belated Birthday Han

Reinforced filler ( read USC Duraglass ), then a skim of regular mud and a coat of epoxy to seal it all up.. Quarter seam on passengers side was also blasted, epoxied and re seam sealed and now has epoxy sealing it

April 19, 2009 at 8:04 am #14017Everything has already been sanded and is ready for paint.. Including the engine bay.. Bumpers still have edges, corners etc. that need a scotch brite pad took to them..
My problem besides family has been the hood.. I made the body line all the way down it, out of matte and resin.. but have struggled getting it just perfect.. I have sanded down the the matte twice now, and while my wife thinks it looks fine, I can see at just the right angle that its off just a tad.. Only about a 2 or 3 inch section has been giving me fits.. the rest of it is just perfect.. Its about 4 inches up from the bottom..
Took some pics of the various blocks I have been using, but plan on putting some G2 on this area.. Think its my only option since I WILL NOT PUT FILLER ON SMC UNLESS IT HAS EPOXY ON IT FIRST!!!!! If I could skim that trouble area, I think it would not be an issue, but I wont with regular filler.. Been burnt doing that and just wont risk it

April 19, 2009 at 7:55 am #14016Update:
Been a little bit since I updated this thread.. Been busy around here with life as usual.. Found rust in the rear that the customer wanted repaired, so that has taken away from my time, not to mention the weather has not been all that cooperative with me.. Since I work in such a small space, I need to push the car out to do small parts as well work on things like the bumpers etc.. So when it rains for a few days, it all but kills my time in the garage..

The 2k for this job.. This gallon went fast even mixed at 4:1:1… I had to buy another gallon for the rest of the ride and next round for the hood.. Hard to beat this primer for the cost in my opinion
