Lil glaze and out the door it can go.. Hell you can even smear some pure caranuba wax over it, as it is a wax that actually breathes and wont F up the fresh paint
August 23, 2009 at 3:42 am #15508Im with Blovery.. I have been in that situation before on an 84 I built from the ground up.. I let them total the car, give me like $3500 for it and then I bought the car from them at salvage price and still had money in my pocket.. all I needed was a shell 😛
August 22, 2009 at 10:52 pm #15500Welcome to the fourm.. Just a bunch of us kickin aroiund and having a good time.. There is some real talent on this site and its the most laid back fourm you will find.. Jimmo is the owner and has done an outstanding job getting his name out there and getting good people to join up..
Get yourself acquainted with Ventrilo, you will find it can keep you up late 😛 but its a good time actually putting a voice and what not with the person behind the key board..
I seem to be the only one who does not have a funny accent  :lol1
Here’s a question for when doing graphics. stripes, and what not.Whenever I mask out a stripe. Rather I use Blue Fine line. or 3M 233+
Rather I wait 5 hours for the base to dry. or 30 hours.the masking tape always seems to leave a slight discoloration.
It doesn’t seem like Adhesive, Because I can’t physically feel it.Usually I’ll go over it with a water based Wax and grease remover just to see if I can’t have some effect on it.
But it usually does nothing. But I’ve never noticed it visible when I clear over it.
So I guess my question is what are we supposed to do with these stripes left by masking tape?
What is causing it?
And Is there a way to fix it? Or do we just move on?
Am I just lucky that it isn’t visible? or does everyone have the same results with all colors?
Same thing happens here every single time I layout a stripe on something,,. Even does it over day old sanded 2k clear.. Lucky it does not show up in the final though 😉

August 12, 2009 at 5:18 am #15297Charge a flat rate and be done.. Tell him its this or nothing.. I would also tell him to take it anywhere else you want and get a quote and Im sure mine will be less..
Put your quote in writing.. Only takes a few minutes on a computer.. Also in your quote, I would note that the price reflects the above mentioned items and anything else added comes at an additional charge.. Both of you sign it and then he is bound by your legal agreement..
I started doing this last year and it was the smartest thing I have ever done.. Now no matter what a customer may say, I have our “agreement” in writing and its no hassle :pcorn:
