a lot of companies will have a 2stage formula for a three stage paint. you could also look into House of Kolors KBC candy base coats. they simulate the look of candy but in a base clear system. however you won’t get as much depth with a bc/cc as a true candy

Ya. it felt so wrong, but they brought me beer so some how it felt so right:laugh:
the worse part is you should have seen what they tried to do to it before i got to it. And my cousin brought it over just to paint it:unsure: . just couldnt let something that looked the way it did into the booth. i even shamed him into taking the door handles out;)
Anyone have a secret to removing this piece without breaking all the clips on the end? On civics and I think a few other honda’s. Its the black molding that runs over the doors to the quarter. I’ve never seen anyone successfully remove them without needing new clips (or urethane:blush: )
did you have any luck. i know it wasnt the fuel door cause that seems to be on the drivers side:blush: . i checked em out today. they a latch in the front and back. might be a 2 person job to get em both to open. but it did seem like a fairly simple task. of course i’m sure if it was easy we wouldnt be having this conversation

never heard of that. sounds like cheating to me;)

not to be a smart a$$ but some of those power sliders are connected to the fuel door. there is a cable that keeps the door from opening when the fuel door is open. maybe there is something wrong with that. usually if you can get at it from the inside they will open. try soaking it with some wd40. maybe its just corroded some

thats a deep color. probably 5 coats on that but best to do a spray panel. and yes you want to do the whole side. about 75% overlap for the first few coats. than you can get away with 50% on the last 2. its not unlike spraying a pearl. you have to be consistant. like a robot when spraying it. not a lot of rrom for error cause its tough to repair. if your base isn’t sparkly enough just use a courser metallic in it

dont be afraid to mask in deep and use the lips usually found on the inside of jambs to tape off of. the closer the tape is to the edge the more likely your gonna see a line. i usually only use the foam tape on dogleg areas just cause its a little harder to get that soft edge with masking tape with all those contours. i dont count on the foam tape to seal anything i just use it for the soft edge.
