Why whats wrong with 85?
nothing. the question is whats wrong with llid :whistle:February 7, 2011 at 4:53 pm #28228
thanks guys… I am using PPG base with PPG med reducer 870.
I am going to try it again tomorrow morning. I think I am going to try it like you guys said. Up a little higher. I’m going to try to just dust in the color to cover in an X pattern one more time and hope it blends good this time. Last time I did it at 10 and 15 psi. Not sure what I should do this time?
I’ll let you guys know how it came out.
Get rid of the 870 and get some 885 at least. you want to slow down the mix to give the metallics time to orientate. 870 is just to fast for that color on a hood. 885 or 895 would be better. also if you have some dbc500 you can mix that 50:50 with your base and do your last coat or 2 with that mix. It really helps on difficult colors when using DBCFebruary 7, 2011 at 4:08 am #28210Thanks Guys :cheers

Good points have been made. The gun may do you for now, but do consider upgrading it. Use bigger air couplers…this is a MUST. What type od paint are you trying to spray?
wouldnt be putting high flow couplers on a 33 gal compresser be like putting a 3 inch exhaust on a honda:teach :teach :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl
Didnt Rob do something like that
