ya, my customer for the mustang is like that. He got a cerbia price and told me to take as long as i want, stops up a few times a week to check progress and do the old “well while your at it” :S then says no hurry again . Even stopped up there yesterday and knew i was on vacation

well finally got a little time to post again now i got all the evidence buried
The sump pump is a temporary fix just to get the water out. we have had a record amount of rain this year so far. and i just needed to keep the water out so i could dig the footers. once its in the budget i will put pipe on the outside and seal the wall as well. I am putting in concrete filled steel columns for support on the main beams. the house is 200 years old and all they had under there were some flimsy screw jacks sitting on top of the 1in thick mud slab :S
wasn’t gonna dig 2 trenches the whole length of the basement. just didn’t have it in me. the holes for the footers are 2’x2’x15″. The clay is solid as a rock here plus I put about 6″ of 3/4 process in the holes and tamped it down solid. Then i formed out the top of the holes with 2x4s so the concrete is 1′ thick. plenty to support the weight. not to mention i will have 5 4″columns in a 24ft span.
Really the main beams in the basement aren’t that bad. a little soft in a few spots but nothing major. the floors are saggy in a few spot from where people over the years have hacked them up for various reasons. I’m gonna sister all the joists and put hangers on em. between the fist floor and second floor is the worse. one reason for all the support i’m giving the basement ceiling is for the jacking we are going to be doing to the second floor
I will post some pics of the poured footers in a while. mixed 70 80lb bags of quickcrete :S
Have you tried spatter painting? Turn your pressure down and let the paint spit out. It could make for some cool effects too.
in the lacquer days 👿 they used to do cobbwebbing. This panel was done with unreduced base coat in a gravity feed gun turned down to about 1-2psi
