Fender, Quarter, Wheels need replace. Still debating the doors. the gouges are kinda deep. they could be repaired but we’ll see. Insurance still needs to come out and look at it. The front door has been repaired before so I dont know if I really want to dig into someone’s mess.

the cab is a 47 ford. been sitting there for awhile, while the owner is looking in his pocket book for more money. he brought me up the frame and cab. the frames pretty well set. was sandblasted and powdercoated. all the susp and drivetrain are in.
Buy a non vinyl top donor for 200 bucks and hack the roof off of that…
I know, I know I always have a problem with always doing things right. 😉

I get too tired of fixing stuff that hacks feel the need to destroy. 😆

Well that would be the easy and fast way out anyways…
You could always weld a hundred and thirty patches into it.

I mean whatever works for you.
Well a another roof is kinda out of the question now days as these things are getting hard to find!!!!!!
And when you do its on the other side of the country and shipping is prohibitive!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like I said car ain’t worth much.

What do you guy’s think about the Lead idea?
all that heat. such a big area and you’ve never done it before  . just get the kitty hair out 😉
Well if you really wanna hack it out you could sandblast the roof, weld patches behind each hole, duraglass, skim coat and prime.. I wouldnt mess with cutting that roof off.. Or you could really hack it out and put some duct tape behind each hole and use kitty hair to skim that roof 🙂 Starting to sounds like old bondo 😆 😆 ;)
not sure about the duct tape. i would use a high grade aluminum tape 😉 then some kitty hair . level it with some 36 grit. spray 3 good coats of poly primer on it sand and paint.. it’ll be like new one the top is back on 🙂

Don’t be afraid of foam pads! A good black foam can out cut a wool pad but make sure its got PLENTY of compound, because the foam pads get so hot if they start to dry out; then you start burning through! I am with bondo on this though, his meguiars is worlds ahead of 3m sandpaper (for wetsanding at the least). I usually go from 1000-1500 and finish out with meguiars 2000
A black foam pad? have you been watching ODG videos with the black foam pad and super duty

the chians on the inside held up the back of the motor and tranny and i hookd a cherry picker to the front of the motor to raise it up while lifting the body off. the tranny jack was just put under the oil pan for secondary safety meaures as the cyl on the cherry picker had a leaky seal and would slowly lower itself down
