How good do those Gun washers really work?
I have seen a few of them and thought they were cool but a little spendy for something I can do in a few minuts.

Also what do you use for cleaning solvent and how often do you have to change out the solvent?

Knowing you Ill bet your just using Thinner aren’t you?

Cool system 4-5k I could see but not much more. all it is is a diffrent twist on the spot weld system/Gluing system with some really cool pullers. But still I couldn’t see more than 5 grand for a complete deal it wont be long someone will copying it and be selling it for less.

Rat
You dont know what Wiggle wire is?
http://www.autobodytoolmart.com/hs-auto-shot-uni-wire-kit-p-10302.aspx Works with any stud welder deal.

I use this instead
http://www.autobodytoolmart.com/uni-clamp-1080-p-10304.aspx
I made up a deal I could mount to my slide hammer to really get a good yank on the studs works pretty good but like all things it has limitations.

The wiggle wire would be cool if you could get on it with something stronger than those hand held finger pullers though.

Hmm whole discusion has me thinking though.

Without a doubt I have had many this isn’t the worst but still not a very good design or should I say not made from quality parts
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=95014
I have had to fix or modify this thing every single time I have had to use it till now it is now nothing like the original this is with very little use at all.
Its just not made from parts to take any use at all before it falls apart.

Absolute worst tool has to be some sort of cheap air/water filter I got from someplace probably one of those VFW liquidation deals I had it hooked up to my blast cabinet, The thing worked great for a long time till one day I was blasting away at some part and it Blew apart sounded like a gun going off parts of it hit me and cut me pretty good too. That was the Last time I was to buy cheap air tools of any kind.
I think I still have an extra one of these laying around some place I may post a picture of it for you guys and then through it out.
Since I was using my Blast cabinet I wasn’t wearing safety glasses had it hit me in the eye I would have lost an eye for sure.

Another on the list
Some sort of Rubber Backing plate I had on my Buffer while using one of those Stainless steel plates for straightening metal with heat the Backing Plate flew apart missing me and My partner but not before flying across the shop and putting a big dent in the steel wall :cens had that hit one of us it would have hurt or sent one of use to the Emergency room for sure.

I tried the 3m Trizact system stuff and dont care for it as much as the Meguiars but Being a Tight wad I have a whole lot of 3M stuff to use up before I get more Meguiars stuff maybe in the end I will like it more but for now I’m still a Meguiars fan.

I agree with having a company take the unwanted solvents away, I use Saftyclean for my solvent tank speaking of which I have to call them again :S But it will keep you from getting a big a$$ fine from the EPA thats an outfit you just dont want to mess with.

If all I had to do was recycle thinner to rinse my gun out with too make my Boss happy I would do it after all its his business and if thats what he wants to do its OK with me.
If in the end it doesn’t work out the way he wants he can at least tell himself he tried it and it didnt work.

I would discuss it with him on how he wants the idea tested out to prove it works or doesn’t work the way he wants or a way you both agree to test the idea to his satisfaction. That way you both have a points to go both ways and in the end its still his choice his shop ya know! you get farther with Honey than you do with BS.
I am a shop owner and I am always looking for cheaper any good businessman is! Look at it from his perspective 50 bucks saved is 50 bucks in his pocket for something else like Beer! :exci
every time i buy an expensive paint gun it turns out to be really crappy, the last one i bought was a devilbiss which sucked completely, and before that a Sharpe. Heres my guilty confession: i spray with ATD guns now. yea theyre cheap but i have no problem with them mottling paint or zebra stripes or whatever. the pattern isnt that small or large, i mostly do overall paint jobs. the only issue i have with them is the lids, which is easily avoided if u convert them to a pps system. Personally i think you can shoot the best looking paint with the cheapest gun if your technique is right and the air supply is plenty.
Sounds odd! Do you have enough air? I’m not a huge Devilbiss fan but a lot of people love them and get great results. Do you use high flow fittings? Sometimes the best gun won’t spray well if it can’t get the air supply it needs. Just a thought!
I am real surprised too I love my Devilbiss guns I did have a Problem with the Plus gun I had to return it but the new one is awesome! I have the FLG3 for Primers a GTI for Base and the Plus for clears they all work great, And with all the added tip size choices there really hard to beat I have 2 or 3 diffrent tips for each of the gun’s its like having 8 diffrent guns.

Are you talking about getting one of those Recycling machines or just buying recycled thinner?

I have thought about getting one of those recycling machines but they are spendy. Take a while to justify the purchase that’s for sure. Buy a whole lot of virgin for what it costs to get the machine.

Well Rat lemme tell you it really wasn’t to hard to do really I just tried to get on top of that little orange work stand you see by the ford in those last few pictures.

Doc says when I was putting my weight on my hand at the same time as a slight twisting motion getting up on it is all it took evidently.
He also said it must have been Microscopically loose and bending during daily activities which work hardened the break area which he says explains about the pain I was trying to explain to him 3 days earlier.
If the plate is loose it cause pain.

This is my Third plate in two years my second being put in just a few months ago.
Hes now has the thickest strongest one available in there now and he put in as many screws as he could plus some In order to keep it from micro flexing.

I hope it works this time I am sooo sick of this
