LOL!

Not sure of clearing over that. But it aint such a bad job for a first timer.
I’ve seen much worse on a high-end Lambo.

Obviously, matte black is very popular lately. And it looks great on many
sports cars. And rather than using a flattening additive in clear, which
can be tricky and inconsistent, i’m more open to other approaches.

It needs to be consistent, repairable, durable, and cleanable.

Marhyde Ultimate 2K isn’t bad but not quite ultimate. Used lots of it before.
The build is good but doesn’t sand very well. And the batches are inconsistant;
sometimes very lumpy. Go with the SPI 2K regular build, it’s much better
in every way that matters. It’s inexpensive, consistant, low or no shrinkage,
very easy sanding/blending and easy to shoot.

Yes, another shameless SPI plug….

Rates are just going to vary. Tear downs rarely exceed an hour ($50).
Storage is $50/day and $50 admin fee. And, sometimes, i’ll tack on
another $50 (a-hole fee).

Now that’s an EXCELLENT plan!

Wow. Sorry about your friend.

Yup, all good clears for sure. The only draw back with the Universal is that
it’s super soft. It’s great for garage queens (show cars/bikes) that wont see
the road too much. Basically it swirls easy.

The MS on the other hand, wont swirl up that easy. It’s a few clicks harder
but still soft by any standard. And after cutting and buffing for 40 hours
or so, it’s extremely nice that it wont swirl up after a wash. On the down
side, you can get runs much easier as it is very thin (probably good with
a 1.3 tip). Best not to shoot this in low temps (run city). 75 degrees and
higher.

Get the Ms clear. I prefer it over the Universal….
The Cut and Buff Kills Profits
Actually, it can be profitable at least for restoration/custom jobs.
For collision? Nah…
