Are you doing a solid or metallic color? You can paint it in pieces for no mask lines or all together after spraying the jambs.Maybe gives us a little more info about your plans and we can fine tune from there.I would love to see pics of your car,I love camaros.
Here are a couple of pics of a 69 I did 5 years ago.

December 15, 2013 at 5:26 am #45672Debates are good IMO it keeps things real, sometimes reps get a little too sale happy and don’t deliver facts with sales pitches.Nobody is going to kick anyone in the balls for technical advice.I agree that all brands will work but some are better than others. Why not give a detailed explanation of what products and techniques to use?Like I said there are others that could use the info…….
December 15, 2013 at 4:37 am #45670Maybe so but there are other users who could possibly get something out of the info, thats what this forum is for.
December 14, 2013 at 11:24 pm #45665Welcome to the forum :cheers Hopefully one of the cromax experts will be here to help you,I don’t use the stuff.
December 3, 2013 at 5:29 am #45621The new update seems to be working pretty good :cheers We just have to get the laughing smiley back in the shoutbox
December 3, 2013 at 5:15 am #45619Your system sounds pretty slow to me and very counter productive, you waste more time drying it IMO.Im old and have sprayed plenty of centari and still shoot single stage 😉
December 2, 2013 at 7:04 am #45606You could be right with your products Jim but I think it is more for delamination not contamination, and unless your are using a hardener in your basecoat I don’t think there is much of a cross link to the clear.I have seen lots of cromax delams in my area, just saying.
December 2, 2013 at 5:58 am #45599Depending on the temp you bake at dont you think you are shortening your recoat window and possible delam?Water dries from the bottom out so I don’t understand how it can dry so fast but the bottom is still not dry when you pile on so much material all at once? I have been spraying waterborne for 5+ years after 22 years of solvent and have never relied upon a bake cycle to “help “get the water out, blowers are sufficient.
November 30, 2013 at 5:04 am #45572Not sure I agree with different products needing a different gun,but I do agree with different clears needing a different fluid tip and technique etc.For all out speed and a nice finish most here have not used this gun but a sata jet 90 with a 1.4 and the SL nozzle set is deadly fast.I have found that the 3000 rp with a 1.4 is pretty close to the jet 90 for speed.I think the 4000 rp is the slowest out of the 3 rp’s but has a very nice finish.
