yes it is a nice product but they still need to work on their color match to peterbilt, kenworth, freightliner, volvo, imron colors.once they get that dialed in it will be great

Jimmo sikkens 650LV is its industrial answer to Imron and ppg delfleet. It is based on gel resin technology like imron.Imron 5000 is single stage,6000 is base coat, they have now been replaced with Elite single stage(ES?) Base coat (elite base,EB)

I bet a stack scrape, filter change, and that booth would work great, crossflows work well with waterborne if you ever had to use it.I got some pretty nice jobs out of the old crossflow I learned in 😉

Nice work Glen thanks for sharing :clappy Could you take a few pics of your booth when its empty? It looks like an old pressurized crossflow booth and I am a bit nostalgic  I learned to spray in one back in the mid 80’s.

Auto air is no comparison to enviro or sikkens autowave. The portable blowers help remove the water from the painteven if I don’t use them in my booth it still flashes faster than solvent. When using blowers one coat will flash in 90 seconds, much faster than your 10-15 mins per coat of solvent base.I sprayed solvent for over 20 years I know how it works…

What brands?judging by your “all day to dry” satement you really don’t have any experience with it.That is a typical internet statement that is false.Waterborne is just as fast or faster than solvent.

I think everyone can relate to that at one time or another,it can be very hard to find a place where you are appreciated for what you do.There are good shops out there it just takes some looking and word of mouth to find a good one.Do you have any friends at other shops in your area? Are you friendly with some of the jobbers in your area?If they are trust worthy they might have some leads for you without jeopardizing you current job.Good luck.

I can understand how other systems work with colormatch, but using a camera for a color doc tool might be a good way to compensate for a system with a poor variant deck system. Most times a camera will find a formula in its library that will give you a blendable match(if your lucky)We have had good luck with the camera doing an auto formula for solid colors but metallics doesn’t work very well.I did have one tech guy work with us at the shop for a couple days and his knowledge was amazing. He was able to take a camera shot of a color, then do a sprayout of the formula, then take another camera shot of the sprayout. What this did was let the camera compare the formula to the actual result and make any adjustments to make it perfect.Very time consuming yes but the results were impressive.I’m still not sure how he did it

You need to check the color when the vehicle comes in the door, not in the booth when its maksed up ready to go :deadhorse this is the best time saving habit to get into.
How are going to learn to do it properly if nobody shows you??Why isn’t mr.guru showing you??
