I’m sure Ryan will be here to help.I know 973? was replaced with 974 and 356 was replaced with 350 and 355.Not sure about the pearls but I have 332,333,334 versions on my bank pretty sure you need them.

All that work and no mixing bench, doesn’t make sense,it costs way more for your jobber to mix your colors.Sounds like a sketchy outfit

You don’t need it on a solid color :S You only need it for a metallic or a pearl, using it on a solid color is a waste of time.
So how long does it take you to set up the camera and shoot the color vs pulling a few color chips from the cabinet
Thats my point,I can check variants in as little as 2 mins,to calibrate and set up the camera then plug it back into the computer for the formula is at least 10 mins. You check the color when the vehicle comes in the door so your not scrambling at 4:30 on thurs aft so it can go friday.
All I do now is mask and spray.I count bumpers and 2 tones as jobs so its not that bad.

There should be a written estimate or work order on all collision jobs(times are provided by mitchel or equivalent except on judgement items like sheet metal repair)ask your boss for a copy.
Busy! I had to work 68 damn hours last week as is!
That is a recipe for disaster and not smart, check your variants first 68hrs or not.I paint up to 8 jobs a day and always check color, wait until you have to redo it when the color is off and you didn’t check :wak Cameras are not designed for checking color…..

Our shop had a delfleet system for about 4years,the only reason we tried it was the reps said it would match imron elite colors on peterbilt, kenworth, freightliner etc.In the 4 years we had it not once did it ever come close to matching a factory color,we ended up ordering imron instead. Our shop felt it was not a very nice user friendly system and we got rid of it.The 2.1 voc clear was pretty nice.I felt the single stage(essential) was thick like molasses and didn’t spray very well.If you have an akzo noble distributor you could look into utech 3.8,sprays nice and tough as nails and fleet colors as well as oem are available. We have since put in an imron system for the big trucks.Just my 2cents.

Spray it like base (medium wet) on a blend panel before you do your blend/spot in.It will help orientate the metallics/pearls as opposed to them standing up or laying in the scratches. The proper term is called a wetbed blend. You can do it either way, spray it on and wait or spray it on and go right to color. When collision painting slower reducer works better for blending and spot ins.If you are going to be doing more collison painting I would strongly suggest you take a course with the company that you are using there products. You would be surprised at how much easier it will make your job.

We will touch up obvious runs or some nibs but thats it.Big $$$ restos will get cut and buffed, most times a good of the gun finish is good enough.

Speed has no effect on quality,if you have been taught to do it properly after repitition speed becomes natural. If you have done enough completes you will know what I am talking about when it comes to using a “slow paint gun”Spray a complete on a dodge ram with something like a GTI or an iwata lph 400 then do it with an rp and the difference in speed will be obvious.
Yes I spray clear like that all the time,I don’t really spend much time trying to set the gun up to match peel,a faster mix will do the same thing.
