I would say you need the slowest mix as possible for sealer, definately move up on nozzle size,1.3 iwata won’t put out very much material. You mean large flat panels like roofs and hoods?I find that odd since those are the easiest parts to keep wet, people usually have trouble with the sides.

Actually our very own Jack/bondomerchant uses those 2 clears exclusively :wak :cheersDecember 23, 2012 at 8:38 am #40050Welcome to the site :cheers If you can you should post some pictures of your camaro, there are a few gm resto guys here who would love to see your project and your plans.

December 16, 2012 at 1:54 am #39959If you think about it the longer you spend sanding a cheaper filler it costs you more money in labor and sandpaper, not really cost effective.I agree that the flyweight gold is a great filler but didn’t find the fantastic very good at all, maybe I had a bad batch…

Actually I like the 2000 RP the best :stonedDecember 12, 2012 at 7:12 am #39882Are you talking about the 4000rp vs the 4000hvlp? Or just rp’s vs hvlp in general? In short the difference is atomization and speed, the rp’s will use more material, atomize better, lay down a smoother coat of clear vs hvlp.
December 12, 2012 at 6:49 am #39881Pretty common in the GM musclecar restoration world,if you have done a few for the uptight crowd it is all to common to try to reproduce shoddy workmanship. The mopar guys even want the factory runs duplicated. On some of the chevelles /camaros/novas they also want body color overspray on the bottom of the floors that are black or red oxide(depending on the plant). You haven’t even experienced a picky owner until you have had to do a resto like that
December 12, 2012 at 5:17 am #39876
Nice work… but why the over-spray on the intake manifold on the Sting Ray? :wak
If you are doing a 100 point concours resto on a big block vette and you want to go to the bloomington gold show you have to reproduce what the factory did right down to factory overspray. - AuthorPosts
