The paint pocket exhaust filters will eliminate most of the overspray build up on exhaust fans and plenums vs the green fibergalss filters, night and day difference 😉

You know if you put a 9000 air cap on it and a 1.6 or 1.4 fluid tip in it(from a gfg) it will spray pretty damn good.I like those old guns, use quite a few back in the day, thanks for sharing. :cheers

Or you could just heat your paint on a stove and use a JGA,remember the hot spraying days :agree

Not needed in hot and cold climates, that is why spraybooths are heated with an air makeup unit to keep a consistent temp.If you don’t have heat do not paint below 12-15C or 60-65F or your products will not cure.

Hey what about an airless sprayer you know the ones that are used for spraying houses?Pretty sweet wide fan,and just think of the fluid delivery :woohoo: :stoned

Negative, mix your clear according to your TDS sheet,if you add more reducer to compensate for temp you will have problems like solvent pop, dieback etc.It is all technique for an off the gun finish needing no cut and buff,no secrets. You also need the ability to adjust your technique on the fly when things go south to get the results you want.I run my guns wide open and compensate with distance and speed to get the desired result I want, time and experience will get you there.

I suppose you can say I’ve had a short life but I’ve been lucky to have learned that having an edge is crucial for success to take place. So I will continue to do what ever it takes to make me a better painter when I don’t have the luxury of practicing.

Someone wants me to paint their bumper so I shall be changing somethings including the brand of clear and booth that it’s shot in and I’ll take a picture to show you guys where I’m at.[/quote]

Your statemnent makes absolutely no sense, how are you going to get better by not practicing? The only way to get an edge is to practice to get better, right now you don’t have one :p Seriously most of the people here are guys with decades of experience working in a shop and painting everyday(myself included) and they have given you good advice…you need to listen. It takes time to get “used to “a clear, spraygun, booth etc changing something everytime you spray is only going to make it more difficult for you.For the record painting a bumper or small parts is not going to turn you into a painter. The only way to learn proper technique is to gradually move up to bigger jobs and eventually completes, that is where the skill comes from, not going out and buying a $500 gun and spending an afternoon reading how to on the net :deadhorse
