Neither one, marson platinum or upol flyweight gold kick ass on evercoat products.Evercoat is not as good as it used to be,there are many other companies with better filler.
September 6, 2011 at 6:25 am #32752Sorry I don’t know where I got white from 😛 What color is the roof and what color is the body going?
September 6, 2011 at 5:49 am #32749Not sure I follow you about the paint line, just do it like the factory did.If it was me I would do the white in single stage urethane one day, then mask it off and do your bottom color.
September 2, 2011 at 4:49 am #32712Yes that hood can be repaired, but an aftermarket hood is cheap. If it was me I would buy a hood, rad, bumper cover and blend the fenders. Why cheap out if you are going to flip it ? Do it right and be done with it,the person who buys it will be happy too,and you can get a good dollar.
September 2, 2011 at 4:25 am #32710Yes of course it does, many oem highway tractors and new chevy truck solid colors are still single stage.A single stage solid color still looks better than bc/cc,as long as you use good products it will last indefinately.
September 1, 2011 at 7:26 am #32697Sure what do you want to know?IMO it is much easier and less work to use a black single stage urethane with a flattening agent added, work smart not hard 😉
August 31, 2011 at 7:58 am #32684
go with a 1.3 if ya want it slick rp of course dont listen ta that goober jay he is still using lacquer an :p :p :p buffing em all
SHHHHHH…..don’t tell anyone 😉 :lol1 :lol1August 31, 2011 at 3:13 am #32676The tekna is a great base coat gun,but not even close to a sata rp for clear. The rp has superior atomization, speed, and they are bullet proof, for an extra $200 it is money well spent IMO
August 30, 2011 at 9:08 am #32672If you are a fast painter and use a medium solids clear I would suggest a 1.4 in the 4000rp.
August 28, 2011 at 4:52 am #32657Wyotech used to have a hotrod and custom painting course, you were able to take it after the first collision/autobody course.I have seen the campus and shops, very nice facility, this was 10 years ago so I would imagine it is better now.I was going to go down there and be an autobody instuctor, but things change 😉
