You could have at least taken a picture away from the NDP election sign :kofee Look at the bright side,it could have been much worse than $720 😛 I had a retard lose control on his crotch rocket in front of my house and slam into my freshly painted 80 chevy pickup years ago to the tune of $4500,you got away lucky.Didn’t see this until today but there is always someone at Kustom to give an estimate 😉
March 27, 2011 at 10:02 pm #29872Thank you for the compliments everyone 😉 I used sikkens topcoats, colorbuild sealer,autowave base,superior 250 clear.I used my sata rp for sealer,3000hvlp 1.4HC for base,sata 4000rp for clear.
I’m lucky with this one,all I have to do is install glass and weather stripping :clappy It should be out the door by the weekend.March 27, 2011 at 5:00 am #29860I agree,it would look better if it was all original, even the steel wheels and hubcaps that came on it.I think he is going to put the flat hood back on it 😉 For one of 700 SS 396’s made in 72 it should be orig :chair
March 27, 2011 at 2:47 am #29856SOOO you don’t blow anything off, don’t use wax and grease remover or waterborne cleaner, and endust is the magic cure…..give me a break :rofl :rofl I call Bullshit on that one…sorry

March 25, 2011 at 3:33 am #29786
That looks really good Ding! If you keep this up we may have to evaluate who the real site pro is?
:clappy :clappy :rofl :rofl :deadhorse :deadhorseMarch 24, 2011 at 4:52 am #29757Our shop has just started using it since 3.8 is now to high voc for our area.3.5 is very nice, but you have to use accelerator in it you don’t have a bake cycle. It is a little slower to dry,and you need to wait about 5-10 mins between coats.Works better with 2 medium wet coats.
March 24, 2011 at 4:31 am #29754Try regular wax and grease remover and see what that does.Like others have said, blow the snot out of it before it’s in the booth.Once it’s in the booth masked and ready to go, turn on the fan blow it off with your hand following the air from your blower acouple of times. Now wipe it down with W&G,then blow and tack it a couple more times, tack one more time before you put on sealer or paint.Even if your towels are giving off lint this S.O.P will take care of it.
March 22, 2011 at 3:45 am #29713Viledon or camfil, very good filters.Do you have a gauge in your booth to show how much pressure there is?I’m thinking you need to change all your filters, and balance the pressure in your booth. Also you need to take more time with wiping, blowing, tacking.Sometimes I will go around a vehicle 5 times with a blower before it feels clean.Ryan gave you an excellent guideline to try on your next job.Usually good housekeeping is the problem and not the booth.I can get just as clean of a job out of our homemade 25 year old down draft vs our 5 year old downdraft.
March 17, 2011 at 7:07 am #29618No but I have just heard what Ryan has said about them. But I’m no stranger to devilbiss, had a JGA,MBC, GFG-517,GTI,and a plus over the years.I doubt it is better than my sata rp,3000rp,4000rp or 3000hvlp.But I’m interested in trying one with a 1.4 or 1.5 for autowave just for kicks.;)
March 17, 2011 at 5:44 am #29613Nice work Darren, those teknas look interesting 😉 :kofee Man I just don’t get how you guys think that is a big car,you should see some of the junk in our shop :deadhorse :deadhorse :deadhorse
