Thanks, Dinger.

Funny you mention the Sam Adams, it was the only beer available, plus some fancy wancy type of cheese!

And, you are right. It’s not mine. I did it in exchange for 31,000 Big Mac’s!

Yea, apparently I’m having technical difficulties, for the time being just try to picture a nice Packard, if you have ever seen one,LOL!

Apparently you guys use no plastic filler, or primer, for goodness sakes, wheres the dust? LOL! Lot’s of good looking stuff. I’d be a sucker for that Lincoln. ’70 or so?

Hang your doors in primer. Take a scribe and trace the door hinge. and then remove. Take a punch and mark top, and inside left. Don’t even let me see an 1/8 inch hole drilled in the hinge! LOL!

Okay, for one, fry me for being anal retentive, but the bumper cover is still on the car. I know this often seems like a non-issue and you get what you pay for but….and, two, that looks very consistent with what it looks like when you try to hose primer over -delaminating clear coat. It just doesn’t seem like a contamination problem because it doesn’t look consistent or patterned. I didn’t read the whole 101 string so it’s kind of like giving an estimate over the phone, but I’d look at product reduction for the appearance of painting over a vinyl top, and the surface being covered beforehand. Just a thought,

Wow, I’m very happy for you, and congrats. I hear with new technology that boys can now start mowing grass at age 3, which I am hopeful for since I only had a daughter but now have a late model grandson,LOL!

Looks good. Is it just me, or does it look like it’s about 1/2 an inch over too far to the left?,LOL! One good thing is that metal heats faster than plastic in the sun, and that is one of the things that can cause “shadowing”. So, since you have plastic spread to the edges, it may help reduce the possibility.

Well Ding, let’s just say about the only air tool I could use on this @#$$# was a paint gun, LOL! Aluminum Doors, and deck lid, more detailed lines and curves than anything I’ve ever worked on before, and rockers shaped like running boards. Gaps were so bad you could get the spare out without opening the deck lid. It’s tighter than a Lexus now, though. I’ll throw up some more pic’s later, wife has the camera card somewhere. One thing I have learned though, if two screws would hold a piece of trim on, Rolls put 25 screws on it just to make sure,LOL!

Looks great Ding. Here’s what has consumed a considerable amount of my time lately. Forgot to set the stupid date on the camera, just got paint on it last week.

Well bondoking, I’d probably ask the guy for $6500 bucks, then I’d sublet it to you for $4500. But seriously, that has been whats always killed me about the body biz. I could have a multi-million dollar facility, and the insurance industry would not want to pay more than $44 bucks an hour, or, I could string a tarp between two trees, and get the same.

There is no way I could sit here and tell you what you are worth. If they jump on the price like a hobo on a ham sandwich, you are probably not charging enough. If you are sitting around twit ling your thumbs, you are probably charging too much.

I like to call that “free market”. But, don’t worry, if Obama has his way he’s gonna fix that for ya. Or, at the very least, fire you.

Looks good, Jimmo. Did you have to do much work to it to make it fit? On the longer videos, you might want to add music, lol.

Pretty good one, Bondo. I was watching that and thought “man, I hope that doesn’t crack him in the head when it flies off”. If that was me, it probably would have clipped my ear off, LOL!

    Hey Nick,

Do you, or anybody you know can help me figure out the under hood color of a 65 Rolls?

    February 14, 2009 at 7:21 pm #12744

Don’t over grind the metall you are studding to, try bigger studs on thinner metal lika a hood and such, and also the wire adapter works much better on creases. Grind the end of the studs flat a little bit if you are on really thin metal. The more area contacting the metal, the less likely you will yank a hole in it. Also try using more studs closer together so you aren’t trying to yank a 3 inch dent out with just 2 studs.
