you’ve got a lot of rust on the car and i think media blasting is the best thing to do before you start any metal work. keep us posted

might it be better to use a cheaper base and better clear? something good to lock in the stuff below. 😉

the keystone clear is garbage hands down. if you want a better clear for a better price go with USC Morton 40 glamour clear.

i agree with Jayson about first inspecting and cleaning your equipment. Our shop experienced this same scenario back in the day when we used to spray single stage paints and our painter would always have runs. He always blamed it on the weather, the booth, compressor, gun or paint so to narrow it down my dad painted the next car himself and it turned out great. to make a long story short, it turned out the painter wasnt mixing in the correct amount of hardener and was over reducing the paint.

if u want sincere advice, i wouldn’t waste my time or money. the kits are garbage, and eventually ull forget ur car even has one when driving and break it. not worth the time or money. if you absolutely wanna do something different to your car’s body, try something like shaving handles or locks off.

if your gonna go the akzo route, why not go with wanda? i used their solvent line, primers and clears and i thought they were great and the price was great too. i think they recently added a water system which i bet is just as good if not better.
