if its never been used then the fan and ducts should be sparkling clean. if its solid, 1,200.00 is a great deal. gonna be a real pain to disassemble and then reassemble but i guess its worth it

my supplier says that most shops who’ve tried the different systems prefer the envirobase or debeer water the most. but the part looks great from here 😉

yea head to toe and side to side. always let it flash fully before you recoat. spraying it too wet makes it blotchy, i had the same problem the other day but it was my fault because the spray pattern was messed due to the gun not being clean. when i meant an X pattern i meant from corner to opposite corner. try it like your doing a drop coat but caution not blending it with the fenders will make the color different even if its the same mix.

is your gun clean? maybe try spraying each coat perpendicular to your last?, then maybe in an x pattern but keep your coats light

its kinda hard to advise you on how to approach this job if your not looking for an “award winning paint job” any time you spend on it will be just a waste if you cheap out on the final paint. so being that, if you do decide to take this job on you have a lot of preperation to do. you may very well end up spending hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars to do it professionally yourself. so u gotta ask yourself do u have the time, funds, and equipment to do it?

u probably wanna start off getting better equipment… its worth the investment

you can get a bigger compressor from these guys http://www.eatoncompressor.com/page/page/504747.htm i got a compressor pump only from them a couple months ago and its pretty strong unit for a Chinese, originally i intended it to be temporary but its really proven itself to be a real workhorse.

and i like the idea suggested about sweating copper pipe. at first i was skeptical about it but i ran a small portion of it to test out and its holding quite well. there are different schedules of copper pipe to buy so it makes sense to buy something with a high psi rating. the steel pipes corrode and cause endless problems. rn member Nexson could tell u that first hand

if i remember correctly there are 4 or 2 plastic clips that have to be depressed even after u remove the nuts. look behind the wiper motor

:welc i think if your a devillbiss guy or they are within your price range then you should look into a Tekna gun. i use one everyday for both base or clear and its a fantastic gun. you can purchase a compliant air cap and the hvlp cap but in my opinion the compliant air cap is the best way to go and the most universal. they are also running a 2 gun special on the Tekna at the moment for a killer price.

i dont use diamont but i use debeer solvent and i rarely apply a wet bed . i do however raise my air pressure a bit more so it doesnt spray so wet. and then i always finish with a drop coat by over reducing just a little more, lowering my air pressure and holding the gun further then usual so the metallics just fall into place and dont look blotchy. i think if your using solvent base its still okay to flick ur wrist to blend it.
