I am using the evercoat maxium system for plastic filler, then i just gloze over that.
That polyflex needs 15-20 minutes to dry, it is not like other fillers that you can get on fast. That is one thing i dont like about polyflex.
I put the bumper back on because i like to sand with the bumper on the car, so i can sand in it’s natural position, plus it made it 10x easier to block because it was flat. I took it off to get all the edges and bottom side, easier.
Thanks Joe,
I am just trying to do things the right away and I am learning. I been getting away from using incorrect fillers on plastic and trying my best to learn what materials work best. I am not too worried about knocking out bumpers as I do one every 3 weeks. This is just a hobby, so if I don’t have time to do it right the first time, I better have time to redo it. Had I made this video and left out some of those steps, I probably would had been knocked for not doing this or doing that 😛
Nice work on the video! Looking good! One quick tip trying wearing rubber gloves when you are cleaning the bumper that way if you touch the bumper by mistake wont cause any issues down the road. Sometimes the oil in your skin will cause problems sometimes not, depends on the person. Otherwise looks like you are getting good at bumper repairs! Nice easy money 🙂
Also I didnt notice if you put sealer on your cut through or not.. Might shrink down the road if not..
yea I have a bad habit of not wearing glose! I should have sealed but I didn’t have any left, I usually do though. Thanks for the compliments!
it’s all personal preference. I like my iwata for base because it is slower and doesn’t put the base on as wet, which helps me keep a cleaner job in my makeshift booth (crap in the b/c). I like my sata for clear, because I like to get it on fast and wet.
I will say that the satas are more solid built guns.
