I’m thinking you needed a hardner all the single stage paints I’ve sprayed I’ve had to put a hardner in them I would talk to your jobber

I got to demo some it was ok drys fast with blowers and after the final coat let sit for 30 min it doesn’t block good but sands good with a DA so I would stick to solvent primer but pretty cool for a water primer that’s DTM

Its not a bad product but nothing like autobase plus color match is not as good as autobase i think you can save money with staying with sikkens u get better coverage and color match with sikkens

also don’t use the chips just do the camera with the make and paint code and use the camera picture that has been adjusted no matter what the reading is with the high metallic reduction makes blending much easier I’ve also found the thinner you can get it the better it spray but you lose the quick coverage but i’ve had good luck doing it this way with color match and no more halos and one more thing is do 3 to 4 12 inch passes to help with the really high metallic colors

im using cromax pro with all spies primer, sealer, and clear. i like the 8035 clear also used the 8046 and had to many die back issues with that clear but the spies solvent is a lot better then the water its the same as stando blue and spies hecker hi tec and cromax pro the biggest issue i have with the dupont water is it cost a lot more to use then other waters

Business is up and down but year round and kinda cold to me right now it’s been in the 40s for the past couple of weeks but that’s at night and around 55 to 60 during the day we are lucky and don’t have to deal salt and rust but I feel for u on that I hate dealing with rust it’s like it never goes away

I agree it has pros and cons and I’m all about bettering myself and the products I use but I live in Alabama where the humidity is always around 50 plus percent year round and as thick as this stuff sprays it takes a while to dry so i have to thin it down a good bit and when u do that you lose the coverage but it blends so much easier but its a different painter and different strokes for different folks

the spies standox and dupont water are all the same just different labels ive used it for over a year and would switch if i could it cost me some much in materials and just not worth all the trouble to make it work there are a lot of colors that dont cover in 1 and a half coats and to me solvent is a lot faster

I agree with ding why not just keep your aluminum cup or plastic cup on your gun and use plastic mixing cups and just reuse the cups cause they arent as pricey as the PPS cups per box
