im goin to use PPG global with the 8150 clear and i talked to my PPG rep he said he would help me out with the paint and clear so i would only have to pay half of there cost so that will help out i might hit him up first for like 4000 cause i have to pay a bodyman to fix the dents and help me tear it down and i also have to strip the hood and cal screen and the rest is prime dents and scuff and shoot
the best way ive found is wash the car and come back with thinner in the wheel wells and all the cracks that u think might hold some silicone or anything that could cause the paint to fisheye and if its a car with a lot of silicone all over it ill wash the panels down with a strong degreaser and then come back with thinner a few times
i really want to see what the carlyle group is goin to do with the dupont paint department cause ive heard they cut 1500 jobs and are goin to cut more first of the year and also wondering what they will call it cause they didnt buy the dupont name and will they reformulate the water base or try to make it work and then sell it off to the other big time paint companies to get there money back cause thats what i think a lot of painters would like is to get rid of dupont water just my 2 cents
Im not a big fan of cromax pro ive used it for 11 months and there are way too many issues. If u have a large flake good luck getting it to not model and if u dont get it right the first time u have to redo the whole job u cant spot in the place that messed up it halos really easy and have to work the product a lot and to me it makes me want to go back to solvent and also color match isnt good its really not user friendly and ive even had dupont reps tell me they dont push it cause they dont like it
Yea I feel like Sikkens water is faster then solvent just from the few jobs I did with it it really seemed faster and color match much better And really just a better product over all and so much easier to blend which is a big plus Cause u don’t have to fight blends
Have you run into a lot of chip that dont match what you spray cause thats one of the biggest issues i have i dont even use the chip deck anymore i just use the camera get better matches with camera then straight from chips or formula codes but this paint will make a lot of painters start to beg there boss to either go back to solvent or another brand or water
