from what i saw when a paint rep was spraying waterborne it needs to be wet, to the point where it looks horrible? then when it dries it then comes to life
but then he was using a spray gun that begins with the letter i with the orange cap i cant call the name cause my post may be deleted.
dont know what pressure he was spraying with
you may be spraying a little too dry?
i use a lph-400 but i dont think its a gun problem. I’ve also used sata’s too.
Im not saying it doesn’t look good, but maybe im just expecting too much.
what are you sanding with?
and how does the surface look orange peely? urethane wavy?
maybe the lph isnt putting out enough, its rather slowish
what kind of technique do you use 50 percent overlap then wait for flash or multiple passes on one spot until its wet out then drop downim about to take alot of abuse from being an iwata fan
but im tough
Nick I only do a sand and reclear on restos or something high end like a complete on a lexus or mercedes. For the regular collision jobs 2 coats of superior is all that is needed and then its still too shiny.
Reckless spare us the brand loyalty bull shit,if you don’t like sata and the only guns that work for you are iwatas and platinums all the power too ya,99% of the guys here can get a great job with whatever high end gun they pick up.
hey no cussing on this forum
take that back to the other cult forum
On the topic of flow coating, do you guys flow coat with High solid clears?
I spray sikkens autowave(waterbase line) and clear with superior 250, ive tried flow coating once with it, but it doesn’t seem to be worth the effort.
i dont over reduce
but hey im using a w400 :dnc

So how did you come to this conclusion? I just have to ask what kind of work and what kind of materials do you use?
C’mon Jay…we all know he’s a Sagola guy all the way :).
im still looking for a buyer
you dont want forced rotation for water sanding. thats for aggressive material removal. Maybe your no name is no good or maybe your air supply is not sufficient.
