After I finished fixing his job I stripped, cleaned and reset all his guns to get him back on track. I don’t understand why people don’t clean and look after there guns
December 13, 2012 at 11:07 pm #39911I don’t know if its only me that does it but, I’ve got for different clear guns with different set ups. Due to doing all different vechiles for insurance work, know I can’t say which better or worse as I don’t know what finish your trying to get. Is it for your every day car or custom builds etc. I have to match my clear fresh paint work with the clear finish that’s on the car. Over the years you seem to pick up which guns are best for the finish you need. Know I now painters that use the same gun every day but are always playing round to get the pressure rite etc to try and match the car. I ways think if you can match the car so you can’t see the difference in the clear coat between the old and new it’s turned out gd ha ha

Hey mate. No you only set the set up on the gun, no extras or hard case. When you buy it you choose the set up and the stamps you want ie : for clear or baseDecember 11, 2012 at 3:26 am #39840Hey welcome to the site, don’t be afraid to ask anything your not sure of. Attachments:December 9, 2012 at 9:14 pm #39781Hey mate I understand where your coming from as I’ve had this problem with different products,
First with the clear coat, which kind is it as for example you cans get medium solid which is great for your everyday car, then there high solid for great gloss, scratch resistance, slow solids for smart repairs.Fit the polishing I never polish the same day as I find its to fresh and the next day you can see where you’ve polish. I’ve learnt from the past the clear can stay soft due to…
To much material and not fully coured
Not baked for long enough or at the right temp
Try and out the clear tins in the corner of the booth to warm up and help get a better flow
Also having the right speed harder for the clearThese thing help me to get the clear just rite to match the style of job your trying to get, hope it helps
I have noticed that when I’ve used a wet on wet or sealer then based and cleared it does leave a dryer finish, so when I do use it I do an extra half drop coat of clear
Also thinking bout it is the guy using the right, compound, the right speeds and coupons heads, as there’s so many different kinds. If your using the a compound try to use the same make for the machine heads, some of them are to harder for some makes of clear
