There is a temporary upgrade scheduled for 10 am est today to see if it helps speed things up. If its worth it then i’ll upgrade. The upgrade shouldn’t disrupt anything I’m told.

I’ve never used one before, another painter at my shop told me he used one at one point. The recycled thinner was used more as a rinse and then he’s still clean it with a virgin thinner. We used to have our thinner recycled by another company that just kept exchanging the drums, it seemed to work pretty well but I imagine there recyling machine was a bit better. Safety clean (our new thinner company) tells us they can make virgin thinner cheaper then recycling it…I don’t know how it all works????

Ya all BASF, RM Diamont and probably Glasso clear. It is tempting to say good enough on this car but I can say I’ve put some of my best work into this thing, it’s hard not to look at it as a pos. I am curious to see what she’ll look all done. Tommorow’s the spray day, and next week we’ll see if I remember how to put it back together!

Hi Grampa, glad to have you here.

I’ve never used them or heard of them before. A quick google on them makes me think they are a low end, probably private labeled brand. One person complained of a yellow tinge with there clear. Is there a particular reason you are looking at them, have you considered SPI or transtar if your looking for an economical line?

Most people start at the bottom cause its easier to see your wet edge that way.[/quote]

Agreed. Big jobs it’s easier to go along the bottom sometimes to maintain your wet edge as you go up and over the roof. If you start on the sail and go down then your first gun pass near the top is dry and doesn’t melt in very well when you try and pick up where you left off and continue over the roof. Theres no real golden rule on where to start, it can depend on the car design somewhat to. You want to minimize your clear coat edge sitting dry (unconnected with an overlap).

I think your thread may be getting confused with the other boxside thread on the go (mitsubishi), I get confused easily and thought I had already viewed your topic. Looks good man, I don’t know of many places online. have you tried your local jobber or decal shop? I think it would look slick with some flames down it like dings truck!

In Diamont I’ve panel matched WA8555 hundred’s of time, polished the next panel. I think you’d need superhuman eyes to spot out a difference.
