I’ll try, is there any recommended type of thinner or brand?

No hasn’t painted except the touching up I did. The pain is original.

    Thank you jimmo,

One last question for you: If I use paint thinner, it won’t affect the old paint?!

Honestly, I don’t know if it’s aerosol clear or not. As I mentioned before it was customized from the most famous Auto Paint shop here in my country. The label was filled by handwriting (Sikkens HS Clear).

The color of the car is (tanzanite blue metallic).

I’m not worrying now about touching up, I just want to get rid of the new layer of clear coat, and I’m satisfy in the mean time with the old look :).

You can notice here that I sanded the clear coat!

If still both images doesn’t help, I’ll try to get other pictures today.

    Hi jimmo,

    Thanx for replying.
I’d say wash it off and start over.
Do you mean wash it off, then start sanding& polishing over?
hy & how did you spray clear over the scratch after touching it up? For this kind of fix I don’t think that’s what you wanted to do
As I said before, I watched those videos, and they said you need a clear coat after touching up for protection and shinning look.

How did I spray over? I covered the rest area, and I gave fast shot of spray on the scratch. I though that clear coat will easily remove with 1500-2000 sanding!

So Stone: What do you think I should do now to fix the dull area and the remaining spot of clear coat?

    October 6, 2009 at 12:07 am #16265

I used three types, each in different day:
    1- Turtle wax (RUBBING COMPOUND).
    2- No7 (WHITE POLISHING COMPOUND).
    3- malco (Tru-Grit ULTRA-CUTTING CREME)

Will the razor blade smooth the surface as before? after few trys of sanding, I could have smoother than before, but still you will see the spot of clear coat when you focus or under lighting, I believe my mistake was to use spray clear coat.
