I believe if I clear over striping i will get a reaction. The pinstripe is not on their that well you can scrape off with finger nail. Like I posted befor hand painted (blue/purple stripe which not a common color for pinstipe at local paint supply shop or automotive stores in Maine. Last van I did had a hell of a time finding simple white pinstripe in size i needed. Ended up buying online.

My last thought was to tape off and then use fine line pinstripe. So be a small edge instead of masking tape that gives a harder edge. And the idea of pealing off when wet seem to be a good idea as well. Thanks for info and thoughts so far i will try to take picture tomorrow and see if i can post on here. Again thanks for thought and any more whould be great thank you guys…

Reason why im doing from pinstrip down is because the pinstripe is painted on. And it can not be sanded at all. Plus it has a design to it,not just a striaght pinstripe. And i can’t free hand stripping. (2003 dodge caravan.) I had to replace the dog legs and some minor rust on wheel well. Was thinking of bleanding but new at that process. And didnt want to make more work for myself. Cause the thought of back taping on upper body line wheel arch and blending front edge where body line fades. and color sand and buff doesnt sound like good idea. And a blend lenth of quarter above wheel arch doesnt seem like be easy for a person new at blending. (plus wouldnt think be good idea) But really open for opinions.Would be so much easier if pinstripe was not their. So thats why considered back tape on pinstripe and bleend base and clear from stripe down. And yes little undesided if clear will react to pinstripe or vice versa….. Color of van is a light blue metalic
