Have you ever considered switching to waterborne??? PPG’s color matches are great in water.

X3….. I recently switched from Norton Ice line to the latest 3m system. Would the switch to Farecla be worth it??

I do not know of any paint company that would warranty them either, but every paint rep I’ve met I unofficially said that using it on very small burn throughs, within reason, is perfectly acceptable…even under waterborne.
Maybe other paint comanies are different but when I took the sikkens WB certification course 4 years ago they specifically said “do not use autowave over any spray bomb etch (spray bomb or from a gun) or spraybomb filler primer. If you put sealer over top of the bomb stuff you would be ok but it kind of defeats the purpose.
PPG say to not use it their water either but my Rep did admit it would be fine to hit the cut thrus before water if your not using a sealer.

Stick with the 2k etch, it takes a little longer to mix it and put it in the gun and cleanup but from experience the corrosion resistance is far better , but if its the type of job you dont really care about go with the aerosol etch. We have all done it

When doing a blend it really pays off to give yourself plenty of room, any damaged panel i like to take the adjacent one for a blend only. Way easier to blend off and match your paint. When blending your first coat you should cover only the area of the repair (primer/sealer) feathering out. Second Coat you should blend out a little bit further again to try and make everything uniform, continue until achieving coverage. Are you spraying a solid or metallic color? solids are generally easier to do. Metallics can take more practice and depending on the color(light metallics) you may need to use a wet bed. You really do get what you pay for when it comes to paint so the more expensive top end paints are easier to apply. Depending on the paint being used a drop/orientation coat may be needed.A pic would be great so we can be more specific.
