Is the bumper CAPA certified? I personally have had great success with TYG CAPA certified bumpers. I would rate most at 7 or 8 out of 10.

Yes TYG and TYC are the same manufacturer.

IMO, shoot Single stage(UH Ford), wetsand next day with 600 grit and 3 coats of good clear. You will have a nice deep glossey wet looking shine.

Im not sure about the Sherwin HPc15 but a clear that i use from time to time that does what you describe is the newest clear in the Nexa Autocolor paint line P190-6800. The stuff is amazing.Excellent gloss and 30 minute buff time. It was launched in late October of 2011, i was abit sceptical about it at first thinking that all speed clears eventually die off but no sign as of yet being 6 months later. Its great for the jobs that have to be done yesterday and your trying to get them out the door. Its increased profit by decreasing cycle time and lowering operating costs. http://www.ppg.com/en/newsroom/news/Pages/20111222R.aspx

The thing with HVLP guns is that they do not require alot of pressure but require a big amount of volume so a small compressor will not let you paint continuously so you would have use it intermitintly. While volume is a concern the duty cycle is another one. most typical retail compressors are designed with a small duty cycle, this is how long the compressor will run while it is off and needs to be taken into consideration because it could wear out quickly if misused.

Its not so much the size of the tank, its the pumps ability to pump out the air.

what is the CFM rating on your gun? that should be determined before you buy a compressor also.

Insurance pay? They give you blend time on the cab corner and rear door or was it damaged? looks good.

I have seen this many times. Chances are the epoxy primer was baked too long at the factory and the recoat window expired before it was top coated. Poor adhesion.

I would strip to bear metal and start over like you described and you will be fine.
