thinners won’t hurt the factory clear but may soften the factory basecoat if the clear has come off.

walldo 2 ?
almost looks by the pictures that your dealing with lifting (not sticking to the base color) factory clear.
no I can’t make it out either …… :
:welc … don’t look like you need much help bro …. nice work :pcorn:
and if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. :woohoo: :kofee
would think it would just wash off with water or thinners but if not try taking your fingernail or a plastic stick (if you got no nails) and push on the side of the droplet and it will pop off :pcorn:
this thread should be speacialy rated , so as not to be seen by the tender eye.
this sort of thing could destroy a whole civilization. :smoke
Yah a piture would help , but try to wash it off and start over ….. I got a 07 Dodge Ram in yesterday that a guy tried to paint over scratches much as you have and we just washed it all off with thinners on a rag and now we will do a micro touch up on the scratches with a tiny paint brush before shaving and polishing
yah it’ll no doubt oil can on yah if yah try to pull/push it out
shrinking can be done may ways (i’m old school…oxy acetylene)
but a stud puller works good for small shrinks :pcorn:
0)
yah you could probably have dabbed clear with a brush
what type of polish are you useing? … you need a pretty agressive polish/compound to buff out 2000 scratches
leveling can be done with a razor blade by dragging it over the rise to shave it down a little before sanding and polishing
nope won’t work cause burgers are burgers and auto body and painting is like snowflakes everyone different.
marketing is a big thing though and if you can do as McD. did (return customers using coupons) you may incorperate some of the marketing stratagey of The big Mac.
worked at a shop once advertised a $199.00 paint job. We never did one but it got people to the door where the sales man was. :pcorn:
fixable …. but I’d probably go with a new one :pcorn:
