:woohoo: just browsing welds

well it creates a lip similiar to a pinch weld  , when one sleeves/fishplates the joint
Yah … make a pinch weld by slipping a 3inch piece in behind and screw and spot weld it in place. Then the new/used one has a 1 inch lip to set on. also allows for a wider gap for welding and something to screw to. I recommend it but not a must :pcorn:
[quote]”the good stuff that isn’t that expensive” let me know when yah find it :pcorn:
scotch bright and clear… then sand smooth and reclear or buff :pcorn:
i meant primer which means painting but the spots that sand through should be sealed with some thing 2k that will harder and need to be sanded …. this will keep solvents from attacking the edge so if you don’t wanna high build over the spots and paint then don’t sand through :pcorn:
don’t sand through just scuff and spray and polish after :pcorn:
I seal with prime or your clear edge will react when the solvets go in to your base under the thin clear edge … ring out on ya :pcorn:
and do i need anything else with the compressor?
paint some thing with your system …. your garage door or an old hood …… It’ll help give you a prespective on what your dealing with ….. ventilation is a big issue along with the compressor :pcorn:
were here for yah 😉 get after it :cheers
No you got it right Doright …. pretty big job for a beginner and in a garage … best to do in pieces :pcorn:
