I use a WS400 SuperNova 1.4HD tip for clear, if you like Iwata and want the speed of an RP I suggest you get this gun, it is probably faster or just as fast as the RP, depending on how you set the gun up,
I set the fan from fully closed 1 and a half turns out and material wide open and it just wacks on the material with ease. I also spoke to a Sata Rep recently and asked him what he thought of the Supernova
and he said in the end these 2 guns are virtually the same with the finish they give so it just depends on preference and money in the end I guess.1. You don’t need to colour sand unless you want a show car finish,
or denibbing (sanding dirt nibs out).
If your wanting a show car finish you’ll have needed to put 3-4 wet coats of
clear on or else you’ll burn through the clear when buffing
or get delamination problems down the track.2. Yes you can buff without sanding but it won’t make the biggest difference
unless you spend a lot of time on it and know what your doing.
You should just check out Autopia.org for threads on how to buff.3. I’m guessing fast cut is a coarse compound while extra cut is coarser.
G3 may be the finest compound of all 3.
The finer the less work you’ll need to do to fix swirl marks
but the longer it’ll take to get the finish you want. Tip is to always start with finer
before coarse, then work your way from there to see what works.- AuthorPosts
