:woohoo: You’ll love the gun!

Do some research, some actually like their orange cap better for spraying clearcoat.

Spray clearcoat with it first, see if you like it.

Ask HUB @ http://www.asetusa.com about it.

Thats exactly why I’m iffy about buying this gun.

What other paint companies recommend for their waterborne BC:

PPG: 1.2-1.4

Dupont: 1.3

Sikkens: 1.3

Glasurit: 1.2-1.3

Damn it, R-M has to be 1.5. Hmm, maybe I should go with Glasurit 90-Line.

BTW, what is 1.4HC? Does HC stand for something?

Double post.

I do have an RP 3000 for clear.

Damn I’m a gun junkie.

If you want to go with Devilbiss, get the GFG-670 Plus gun.
Its a compliant gun, way better for spraying clear!

I’d suggest http://www.autobodystore.com

Before I bought the orange cap, I did some research on purple vs orange cap, and from what I understood, purple cap was slow, “dusted” the paint and it was better off for candy (??).
Hub @ AsetUSA recommended me the orange cap.
I sprayed BMW silver with it (first time spraying silver) and it turned out great, except a few mottling around the curves which I think was my fault for spraying too close.

Basecoat does not need to be atomized well as clear, so any inexpensive decent gun can do a nice job.
But clearcoat is a whole different story, it needs to be atomized and its really easier to spray clear with decent guns. I have an Astro EVO1.4, clearing with this gun was slow and you really had to watch out for your spray methods.
When I sprayed first time with Iwata or Sata, so much easier.

Iwata LPH400, get the silver cap for clearcoat and orange cap for basecoat.

I’ve seen Co-Auto here sell Farcela stuff.

I use Presta shop pack system. Works great, decent price too!

Wow those are great prices!
You are pretty much right on shipping, around $25 or so to Canada. Is the silver supreme actually better than other two? If so, hook me up! :cheer:
What is the difference between those 2 spirits?

If its no problem for you, I’ll take a 6″, 3/16 Non-vacuum silver supreme, plus USPS shipping to Canada, it will take 2 weeks to get to Canada, just like UPS.

Let me know! :cheer:

Hi RatStang.

I’ve decided to go with 3/16 orbit, which I think is the perfect for “all around” tasks.

So far my choice is like the one Bloverby mentioned, but 3/16 throw.
http://www.dynabrade.com/dyn09/content.php?page=quicksearch&search=21035

So far there are only 2 ebay stores that carry this: one of them wants $84 for shipping, other is asking $25 for shopping but its UPS. I hate their ridiculous COD fees.

BTW: how does these sander compare to 21035:

Is the silver supreme any better than spirit?

Damn ebay has some nice deals.
I’ll ask him about USPS shipping to Canada.
Thanks! :cheer:

Looks like price difference between ingersol and dynabrade is only $25, so thats a no brainer.
Looks like 3/16 is used for general purpose sanding and 3/23 is for color sanding. So 3/16 is the way to go. Anyone can confirm this?

Thanks for reply everyone.
I gotta add, I’m a hobbyist.

Aren’t Hutchins and Dynabrades in the $200+ range?

PS: there will be no color/clearcoat sanding as I just sand with a sanding block to remove dust nibs and runs.

I plan to get from this Canadian site to take advantage of free shipping, and no COD fees! Lots to choose from:

Bloverby, any hutchins/Dynabrade model that can sand bodyfiller, primer, featheredge and mabye remove a bit of paint together?(kinda like all-in-one)
Do you like those Ingersols?

Hmmmm…. its supposed to be a great Waterborne line.

What didn’t you like about it?
