    Hey Guys,

I love to take pics of everything!! haha

The rear bumper was defintely refinished, and the clear was cracking from getting banged up.. I took down all those spots and refinished it all.

    PPG Deltron 1:1
PPG DC3000 4:1 (with some paint rocket)

It is alot easier for me to mask it off then to break the clips off trying to find them. I also find it easier to paint the bumper in the way it is positioned on the car.

    Enjoy! 😛

    Thanks Han!

    $600 – $800… that would be nice.

    Nexson,

Scuff paste and grey scuff pads will come in handy.

    Han,

I used gray scuff pads for the clear coat scuffing, but will scuff paste work better then soap and water? Is it easier or just or more effective?

    August 20, 2009 at 5:53 am #15435

Soap and water is always first! But with a scuff paste (i use SEM) the added abrasives do help.
The cleaning and degreasing isn’t very important; kinda of a bad thing to be scuffing a dirty panel. 🙂

    Comet also works well: http://www.howtocustompaint.com/surface-prep-auto-art.htm

Get a few of these (doesn’t last):

    *Just realized they have refills!

Mask off like normal. Use 3M fine line tape for the edges. Then use the scuff pen.
You’ll find it handy for other areas too.

Nice little tool there Han! I am going to look into scuffing paste. i am sure it can’t be much more. Usually what I will do is wash down the bumper, then use wax and grease remover (so I am not sanding w&g into the paint) and then comet scuff and then rinse.
