I don’t know if many of you have issues with air lines blowing out or swelling, but I figured I would pass this along. We were going through airlines about every 6-9 months and it was getting old. My boss got some from my fathers work and so far we have not had one blow out in over 3 years. In fact I have one at work he gave me 8 years ago that is still going strong. Never even replaced the end. No kinks, swelling, or bursts. They don’t cost much more than the cheap red ones and they seem to last forever.

If anyone is interested in them just let me know. I can get you some more info.

What kind of hoses are they?
I’ve always had that problem with Rubber hoses around the Chemicals.

Now for my spraying hose. I use a PVC/PVC coated hose…
It has held up longer than any of the other hoses so far.

Only thing I dislike about the PVC coated hoses is how they react to shop temperatures.
Too hot and they’re super soft and flexable.
Too cold and it’s like lead pipe and won’t flex for shit.
Which really makes working with it, and even rolling it up fun…

hoses are always a problem in the shop..something else that seems to wear out alot are the couplers on my main hoses that are in steady use all day…we have found a company that supplies us with couplers that are a one size fits all nipple styles it is always a problem coming up with the exact type for new hires or demos from retailers …this way it doesnt matter they all fit every time..plus they have a lock feature that is trick…if any one is interested please let me know for more info…

For couplers get prevost. Chemicals don’t hurt these. I will get some info on the hoses. If interested I can see if my father can get you a deal. We got ours for under what the parts stores sell the cheap red ones for. He has a few different colors to. We have grey, black, and blue ones. That way if they are laying on the floor it makes it easier to tell which is which.

our hoses go bad after about 3 or 4 months, i wouldnt blame them they go through alot of abuse, as far as painting goes i use the new flexible hose, its really lightweight and doesnt get in the way like the rubber hoses. theyre a little bit more expensive but they dont go bad as often, i think the one in the booth has been there for last year now. heres a link to the one im talking bout

i just bought 2 red ones and got about 2 weeks out of each of them. they are dryrotted right out of the package. from now on i will only buy the goodyear hoses. they seem to hold up alot longer. i used to have the lightweight flexeel ones. they are great for some things but i dont like them in the shop because they twist and loop around your feet so easy. they are alwys in the way somehow. i have one airline i made at my old job about 10 years ago and its still like new of course it was made of low psi aeroquip hose. the 50 foot line probably cost my old employer $400 but its mine now!! 😛

I HAD some super stiff blue ones that are ok for out doors and those cheap red ones but all I use any more are Goodyear hose. Lasts long time best so far

To be honest, I’ve had a few good years go out on me to…
But I use good years for my 1/2 inch line in the shop… But it doesn’t see nearly as much chemicals as my spray line. So they seem to be holding up fine.

it was a big multi million dollar company. they had 1000ft rolls of that stuff. if the maint. dept. would have fixed my regular hoses the right way i never would have had to do it……its their fault!! :rofl
