This is a shop just down the road from us where the owner has just been convicted for tax evasion and looks like he has to pay back over $200,000. The shop was actually owned by my father about 20 years ago and Steve has been there for about 5-10. He’s a nice guy, I don’t know much about the way he operates but this doesn’t suggest very good things:

Looks likes it’s getting more common.
Tax fraud is not something to mess with.

I’m not sure what is happening with this guys shop, it seems to be still operational. I don’t know what to expect.
May 15, 2009 at 5:43 pm #14319Give it time, You don’t try to cheat the gov. when you’re swimming in $$$. I would pay them before I would eat if it came to it. I’m sure they could get a loan to tide them through it.:whistle:
Still, hate to see anyone struggle, but it seems that they do it to themselves.
