No surprise there After market sheet metal is junk when compared to any OEM Part.
Not that I haven’t used the stuff and will again, But these companies should be required to make the part equal too the same standards as the original part.

In the case of fenders & Hoods
These days these parts are part of the Protection built into the car during a wreck, crumple zones like one MFG uses as a sales word.
So if the metal is inferior (softer) then Your putting the occupants at a greater risk of injury or death after a repair using inferior parts.

I can see Lawyers chomping at the Bit on this one, And if you have read this report and knew it existed and used and inferior part any way you could be held liable for future accident!, After all its easier to go after the little guys than it is the Big MFG with Lots of cash and lots of lawyers.
Easyer to go after your shop and Home and make a quik 100K.

I didn’t think it would shock anybody that the fit was garbage, seemed interesting to me to see the comparison with a specific breakdown.

I WAS READING THIS THE OTHER DAY WITH MY STUDENTS. THEY COMPARE CAPA AFTERMARKET PARTS WHICH COST MORE THAN JUST PLAIN AFTERMARKET PARTS, CAUSE THEY SUPPOSED TO BE CERTIFIED. …LOL GM’S COMPARISION BASICALLY SHOWS THAT THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN THE AFTERMARKET AND AFTERMARKET CAPA PARTS.
EVEN THOUGH MANY SHOPS HAVE BEEN BUYING CAPA PARTS THINKING THEY WERE OR ARE SUPERIOR. LOL

I never fully understood the CAPA regulation. I thought the idea was CAPA is supposed to be near OEM, but I have a hard time differentiating between them too. I wouldn’t say anythings near OEM, the best I could say about aftermarket is some are worse then others. I found the GM breakdown pretty well just confirmed the shops pain.
