Hello from BC! I’m a complete novice (as in zero experience or equipment) and have registered here at the refinishnetwork.com in hopes of benefitting from the collective refinishing knowledge you folks seem to possess at a level rarely found in other online communities. I’ll probably continue sponging info from articles and threads until posting any worthwhile question but it’s good to be here anyway! My primary goal is to learn automotive refinishing, and without a doubt all four of my vehicles are wondering what’s taking so long …

1985 Porsche 911 – Brutally sun faded all over. Rust forming around headlight. Paint literally washed off the roof leaving 5-10 pure white spots. Will see how the next projects go before attempting this one =]
2001 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab – Daily driver I need to take care of asap, Covered in old rock chips that were never tended to. Very minor surface rust, metal is still all good. Clear bubbling and flaking off round spots all over the truck, obviously a crap respray (kind of embarrassing actually).
1993 VW Passat VR6 – Trunk rust fix and spray. Practice job perhaps.

If I can save $10k+ by outfitting myself with more tools with new skills, great. I’ve got the time, a few extra bucks for a gun/compressor, a bit of infrastructure (2-sided 2-car garage port)… and am prepared to have patience!

    Thanks for having me!
