Our shop has been just booming the last few weeks, have barely been able to post. Noticed less people on the site too, hopefully this is good news for all….so is everybody been keeping busy lately? :pcorn:
March 26, 2009 at 11:45 am #13583Its feast or famine for me all the time here.. although Im not a shop owner, i still put my 2 pints worth in 😛
Right now its feast time, but im sure it will subside sometime, maybe not… hope not :blink:I’ve been swamped since the begining of this year. Haven’t crunched the numbers yet but it should
be a record quarter for me. Knock on metal i hope it keeps up. Last year was a complete disaster, however.
Most other shops around me are dead.Seriously, i was considering closing shop because 08′ was so bad. I pulled my few adds and number from
the phone book too; they never made a difference anyway. That’s good to hear Han. We’ve been ok. We were DEAD I mean standing around waiting on a job dead a month or so ago, but it’s picked up a little. My bike painting business is booming though. I can’t keep up. I also have a lot going on in my personal life (terminally ill father) that makes it difficult right now.
Dealing with that +fulltime job+part time body shop+bike painting business+6 year old twins is not exactly a relaxed schedule.
March 28, 2009 at 6:53 pm #13637Sorry to hear about your father natypes.
We have been pretty busy lately. Hopefully it keeps up.
Glad to hear your doing better Han, this business can be quiet difficult at times.
With the economy the way it is, I keep my fingers crossed. Most of my recent business are old
customers and a few referals. They came all at once. Almost as if they’ve planned it.It’s obvious we all have our hands full one way or another. There’s always something to deal with.
Life is tough and it’s hard to plan ahead with business being so fickle.Well, no matter how bad the economy gets, folks will still drive and bang up their cars.
Do any of you network with other businesses? I do, in a way. The tire shop down the street sends
me the type of work i like. I’ve gotten to know the owners very well and have worked on their
vehicles (family friends as well). The liquor store owner across the street is regular too. The gas station
owner down the street sends work to me as well. And a few others.March 28, 2009 at 11:36 pm #13652The liquor store by my work knows me well!:cheer:
The people in the area of town we are in tend to spend their money with other neighborhood businesses. So in a way yes.
