Hello from Amateurpainter from autobody101.com
Have any of you guys used an iso free clear like Dupont 1780S? The 1780S is in their new product literature but the paint store I dealt w/ the other day, who is a Dupont dealer, said they had no idea how to order it. It’s listed as a 3 part iso-free urethane clear. Interested in something like this for DIY use. I saw some aussie iso free clears (like HiChem) I had never heard of when I was googling — I wonder if they would ship to me
Thanks
Steve
AnonymousSeptember 3, 2008 at 4:21 am #11425I haven’t had much interest in iso-free products for the most part, you’ll probably find that they contain another chemical that targets your nervous system rather than your respiratory system like iso’s,,, as my rep used to put it,,,,pick your poison!!!
Understood that there is no free lunch. I had a bad experience w/ iso’s from a single exposure. Even though I have a fresh air suit now, if I can use products start to finish that are iso free, I’d feel better about it. I know that no chemicals are “safe” and that the best investment to make is in safety equipment. Just curious what the iso free clears have to offer, performance wise.
