I just wanted to see if any of you guys have any good leads on body and paint materials online. I have been checking out our local suppliers as I ease back into doing body & paint and the prices astound me. A can of Rage is $63 uptown and I can get it online for $43. The same is true for most everything. 25-50% cheaper online. Do you guys have any favorite online suppliers you would share?

May 28, 2010 at 1:12 am #21625$63 seems a little high. is that with shop discount? Autobodytoolmart has some decent prices on stuff but its easier for me to call up my jobber. plus if theres a problem they will be there for me
May 28, 2010 at 3:09 am #21628TCPGlobal has been good to me. quick shipping, good rates to Alaska, great selection of great products. I’ve never used their paint, but all the other stuff you could possibly need in the autobody business.
May 28, 2010 at 3:45 am #21629I use http://www.smartshoppersinc.com for a few misc. items. I like the fact that on things like mixing cups and things they will sell you a few cups at a cheap price vs. having to buy a case of 100. They used to be super cheap across the board, now they have a few deals while being pretty much inline with alot of other stuff. Their shipping policies are a bit odd, but service is great.
Autobodytoolmart has pretty good service but some of their pricing is a bit high on some items.
http://www.pivco.net is another place that’s alot like smartshoppers.
May 28, 2010 at 3:51 am #21630That is at the local NAPA store and others as well. I swear they get together and price fix here. I am more of a hobbiest than a shop at this point. Discounts were not even mentioned when I complained about the prices. I may need to open a store here, with that kind of markup. My old jobber told me he would set me up.
I asked them about a certain aftermarket clear that I have used for years and never had a problem. He proceded to bad mouth it up a storm. So I called the distributor up and asked where I could get some and he refers me to this same guy. After I got done telling him what the guy said, he was primed to give me the account.
Whatever happened to helping the customer and giving him a good deal?
